WellbeingThe focus for Staff Wellbeing in January will be Healthy Eating. Eating the right food can be difficult, and knowing what to eat is sometimes confusing.  The Wellbeing team in HR have arranged for a nutritionist, Lynsey Clayton, and Mindfulness Consultant, John Armitage, to provide us with some support with three food related events.

Food Wellness Check

Before these one-to-one session you will complete a three-day food diary which will give you a basis for your discussion. Then you will have a 45 minute session with Lynsey to discuss new foods that you could adopt. This is not about feeling guilty about what you eat but adding some new foods into your diet.  Suitable for anyone who needs some advice on Healthy Eating. Sessions need to be pre-booked by email: wellbeing@lincoln.ac.uk

Food Workshops

These workshops will provide advice on food that you could include into your diet.  Lynsey will provide information suitable for anyone to adopt.  Each workshop has a different theme, including Mood and Energy, Digestion and Immunity, and Food Demonstration. Sessions are suitable for everyone and no booking is required.

Mindful Eating

There is mounting evidence that a more mindful approach to eating, recognising the impact of attitude, habit and behaviour, can help improve digestion, regulate the quantity eaten, facilitate more effective hydration and encourage a more restful and conscious relationship with food in general. ‘Mindful Eating’ is a short lunchtime session that gives you the opportunity to practice a slightly more relaxed way of thinking about and eating your food. Bring your lunch with you, chat, eat, and consider how simple things such as slowing things down can make all the difference to your appreciation of how you nourish your body and mind. Sessions are suitable for everyone and no booking is required.
